Who was Mia love?
Mia Love was born among the parents of the immigrants and died calmly with her loved ones. He began his political journey in 2003, taking a position at the Saltiga Springs City Council, located about 30 30 miles south of Salt Lake City. She then proceeded to become the mayor of the city.
According to NBC News, his initial attempt at the House seat in 2012 resulted in a narrow defeat against Jim Mathenin, a democratic coming constituency in the suburbs of Salt Lake City.
He again competed in 2014, defeating the newcomer Doug Owns by a margin of approximately 7,500 votes.
While its ethnic background was not highlighted during the campaigns, it recognized the historical nature of its 2014 victory. He noted that his success challenged people who suspect that a black, Republican, Mormon woman can primarily win the Congress seat in the white Utah.
The GOP initially saw him as an intelligent skill, and he maintained distance from Donald Trump, who suffered significant unpopularity among Utah voters during the 2016 elections.
In 2016, during his re -election campaign and after the 2005 recording appearance, which consisted of inappropriate remarks about Trump’s women, love chose to leave the Republican National Convention. He issued a statement announcing that “she would certainly not vote for Trump”. Instead, he supported the Texas San Ted Cruz, though he later withdrew from the race.
In his 2018 campaign for the third term, love tried to distinguish himself from Trump on trade and immigration, supporting party positions on tax reduction. The Republicans, despite the number of Democrats more than three to one in their district, lost to Salt Lake City’s former Mayor Democrat Ben Mc Adams, with less than 700 votes.
According to CBS News, Trump specifically mentioned love during a post -election news conference, while criticizing other Republicans who did not fully support them.
“Mia love has given me no love, and she lost,” Trump said. “Very bad. Sorry about it, Mia.”
After his defeat, Love worked as a political observer of CNN and showed fellowship at Sydney University.
