The President argues that such programs, which were intended to increase the diversity of the federal workforce, were discriminatory in nature. These actions place staff employees of federal DEI programs on furlough, and require agencies to prepare “reduction of force actions” against the employees.
Then, during a prayer service at the National Cathedral on Tuesday, the Episcopal bishop of Washington confronted President Trump directly while he and Vice President J.D. Vance sat in the front row.
