Understanding blackout dates, fine print, and restrictions

The journey to the booking award can be very satisfying. But what happens when you have planned your travels, are you ready to go, and the date you want are not available?

If you are planning the award trip using points and mails, a free night award, awards certificate, or other advantage this year, these are some details to learn about restrictions and blackouts so that you can get the most out of your savings.

Generally, blackout dates are periodic when traveling is banned if you are using rewards to travel your journey. This may include any booking that uses points, rewards certificates, credit, vouchers, or other non -cash payments.

They may have access to more booking options and can help you secure their journey. Or they can give you more information about why you are unable to book and offer other options.

Whenever you open a new credit card, join a loyalty program, or be awarded a free night or aircraft certificate – make sure you read the terms and conditions.
