Authorities said Monday that two officials of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) were martyred in the Tanda Dam in Kohat district in a gun attack by unknown assailants.

According to KP Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed, authorities have taken notice of the “target murder” of police officers.
“The CTD Additional IGP has been instructed to form special investigative teams … so that the miscreants involved in the attack can be immediately arrested and brought to justice,” he said.
He added, “CTD Additional IGP will oversee the investigating teams.

According to a statement from the Interior Ministry, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack on the policemen.
