Trump says US officials on way to Moscow for Ukraine talks

According to President Donald Trump, US officials have been visiting Russia to discuss possible ceasefire in Ukraine.

The news came when Ukrainian officials agreed to a 30 -day ceasefire after a highly expected meeting with US officials in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio said, “Ball is really in them [Russia’s] The court “and the United States believes that the only way to end the war is through peace talks.

The Kremlin has said he is studying the ceasefire proposal, and a phone call between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is possible.

After a meeting in Jeddah on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Wolodomer Zelannsky said it was now up to the United States to persuade Russia to agree to a “positive” proposal.

Speaking to Ireland’s Taoesch – or Prime Minister – Michael Martin, at the Oval Office on Wednesday, Trump said he had received “positive messages” about the possibility of a ceasefire.

“But a positive message does not mean anything,” he said. “This is a very serious situation.”

Trump did not specify what officials he was referring to.

However, Press Secretary Krinolite told reporters at the White House that National Security Secretary Mike Walts had spoken to his Russian counterpart.

Earlier this week, a source told the BBC that the Middle East envoy Steve Watkf would visit Moscow for talks after talks in Jeddah.

The White House confirmed the plans on Wednesday.

“We urge the Russians to sign the project,” said Leviti. We are closest to peace in this war.

The Kremlin has said it is studying the proposed ceasefire and more details, which spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said will come “through various channels” in the next several days.

At the Oval Office, Trump said he believed that Russia would feel a ceasefire, and without further details – that “Russia is also lacking too much”.

Trump added, “We have a very complicated situation on the one hand. We have discussed a lot. We have also discussed the land and other things that go with it.” “We know that in the fields of the land we are talking about, whether they retreat or not pull back.”

To put pressure on Russia, Trump said he could “work financially”.

“It will be very bad for Russia,” he said. “I don’t want to do this because I want to find peace.”

After the February 28 February meeting between Zelannski, Trump and Vice President JD Venus, the meeting was the first between US and Ukrainian officials who landed in a screaming match and eventually a break in US military aid and intelligence sharing.

After the meeting in Jeddah, the pause was abolished, and Trump said he believes the “difficult” Ukrainian party and Zlinski now want peace.

Even when talks about a potential ceasefire are underway, there is a fight in Ukraine.

The Russian drones and missiles were reportedly targeted at the Crevy Ree – the hometown of Zelannski – overnight, as well as the targets in Port City Odessa, Duopoprosco and Kharkio.

The clashes continued in Russia’s Karki region, where Peskov said the Russian army was “moving forward” and was re -occupied by the Ukrainian forces.
