President Donald Trump said the revenue on some of Canada and Mexico’s goods was planned on April 2, and it could not be predicted whether the United States would be able to resolve in 2025.
In an interview on Fox News’s “Futures Futures with Maria Barteromo” on Sunday morning, Trump said the mutual prices would come into effect on April 2, and that a month’s recovery to Mexico and Canada was a “break of a break.”
In February, Trump announced 25 % of the taxes on neighboring countries in the United States. He was delayed for a month and was imposed on Tuesday, even as Trump decided to withhold revenue on carmakers for another month on Wednesday. He once again stopped revenue on Mexican and Canadian goods on Thursday, which is under USMCA’s independent trade agreement until April.
“This is a transfer in April and after that, I’m not doing it. Trump said, I told (automatic makers), ‘Look, I’m going to do this once.’
But Trump has continued to change tariff projects. On Friday, it threatened new taxes on Canadian wood and dairy products. Those revenues can be implemented on Monday.
After Trump announced the latest one month’s latest break on most taxes, Mexican President Claudia Shenbam decided to stop retaliation. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said Canada’s retaliation will remain.
But Trudeau said at a press conference Thursday that these policies pose a threat to a trade war between Canada and the United States for the near future.
Meanwhile, Commerce Secretary Howard Lotnik confirmed Sunday on the NBC’s “Met the Press” that 25 % of the revenue on Trump’s steel and aluminum imports will come into force on Wednesday and the tax on Canada’s dairy and lumbar products will begin on April 2.
Lutnik indicated that the imposed prices on April 2 will continue until Trump is “comfortable” how the two countries are handling the flow of fantasy, it seems that the National Economic Council’s director, Kevin Hassat, has raised the news on Sunday. Hasset said the tariff move behind Trump was part of the “drug war, not a trade war”, which aims to stop the flow of fantasy in the United States.
Hexate said, “What happened was that we started the drug war, not a trade war, and it was part of the dialogue that Canada and Mexico have to close the fantasy ship across their borders, and when we have seen them progressing in the drug war, we have given some of them comfortable.”
Hasett claims that Canada is a “major source of fantasy imports”, even though Canada is responsible for only 0.2 % of drug imports into the United States.
Trade tensions and gradual growth have caused problems that recession may decrease. When Barteromo was asked if he was expecting recession in 2025, Trump said, “I hate predicting such things. There is a period of transfer because what we are doing is huge.
Trump added that the transfer “takes a little time” and “it would be great for farmers, finally.”
The latest consumer survey of the conference board showed that in the coming year, recession came at a height of nine months in February.
Moody’s chief economist, Mark Zindi, told CNN, “The kind of changes that are taking place under Trump are unusual, and it causes people to suffer a lot.” “If confidence falls for three more months, and consumers actually pack it, then the game ends.”
