Three Mayo Hospital nurses removed over injection deaths in Lahore – Pakistan

LAHORE: Punjab Health Department has launched a process against the performance, discipline and accountability of Punjab employees (PEEDA) under the Act against three staff of the Mayo Hospital in the past to manage drug shots, which led to the reaction of 16 patients.

The department removed the nurses, namely Sonila Khalid, Sima Sahar and Nazia Hassan from their positions and instructed them to report to the special health care and medical education agencies until further orders.

The operation was carried out in light of the inquiry committee report, which was formed after the incident in the hospital’s chest surgical ward.

“You suffered negligence, commitment to corruption, while powder injection (the way of reorganization, weakness and administration) and the poor transfer of powder injection (seafrixone), which was one of the 16s in the Mayo Hospital Lahore (SIC), in a Mayo surgical.

It states that the allegations against the nurse give evidence to initiate action against him under the law.

Since the allegations proved true against other nurses, the health department issued information that they removed from their positions and took action against them under the PEDA Act.

The incident has raised a question mark on the system to enhance the skills and training of nurses in the wards of government hospitals in the province, an official said.

He says that under existing methods, senior doctors only recommend medicines, and put full responsibilities on nurses to manage the drugs for drugs. Accordingly, nurses give medicines to patients and the lack of training to follow the newly issued standard guidelines for medicines has clearly exposed the entire system.

Health officials need immediate attention to refresh the knowledge of the nursing staff, officials say. They say that if not strictly followed, it could pose a serious risk to the lives of hundreds of more patients. There were reports that the condition of some other patients who have found mixed drugs are still serious.
