The Trump administration said Friday that it was eliminating a Biden era program, allowing hundreds of thousands of people from four troubled countries to enter the United States and work for two years.
The program gave applicants of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela an opportunity to go to the United States and make work permission to be safe, provided they pass the security check and they have financial sponsorship. They were allowed to stay for two years, which can be renewed.
The Biden Administration was paid for the “legal route” bills, the program was first introduced for Venezuelan in 2022, and the next year was expanded to citizens of the other three countries.
By the end of 2024, more than 500,000 migrants entered the United States by the move, known as the CHNV program, a consciousness of its countries.
Under the program’s authority, the deportation of deportation will be allowed on April 24, the permission and protection of the deportation, called parole.

Employers like Amazon and Honda, who have struggled with labor shortages, have hired many of the program beneficiaries since their inception.
“These people have come here legally, and they are contributing to the economy,” said Joseph.

Under pressure on the issue of immigration in the election year, the Biden administration said in the fall that it was allowing the program to end.
A separate but similar parole program, developed by the Biden administration, has allowed about 240,000 Ukraine residents who fled the war with Russia so they could legally enter and stay temporarily in the United States. The CHNV program ends when the Trump administration has expanded the crackdown against immigrants.
