As far as Wolf Gang Josephs is concerned, by the end of August 1946, he was still hoping for the hope that he might be able to find his father alive. Wolfgang named Peter Johnson and settled in the UK, at a time when very few people in the Western world wanted to hear the stories of those who witnessed Holocaust, or survived. He donated his family papers to the Winner Holocaust Library, a vast collection of evidence of the darkest period in Europe’s history.
Now, after 80 years, very few have survived that the duty of remembering soon will reach the next generation.
