The disappointing first season in the SEC has led to Texas, which looks like a very brief search for men’s new basketball coach.

tHe announced the school on Sunday that he had fired Rodney Terry after about three seasons in charge. Terry took over the Texas head coach eight sports in the 2022-23 season when Chris Beard was suspended and eventually dismissed for domestic violence, which eventually reduced the allegations.

Shortly after the news of Terry’s firing, Austin American Statistman reported He will be the new coach of Zaoer’s Sean Miller Long Horns.

Texas terminated its route in the 2025 NCAA tournament as one of the last teams on the field. The Long Horns was somewhat amazing in the field, but in the first four on Wednesday night, Miller lost to the Zavar.

Long Horns fell 86-80 after the guidance of eight in half a time. Texas led 10:04 with 10:04, but Zavar took the lead and went ahead with just five minutes left.

Texas was 19-15 in the 2024-25 and 6-12 in the SEC. It came a year ago in the last season of Long Horns in Big 12 after the 2024 NCAA tournament after the 21-13 season and number 7 seeds. Texas defeated Colorado State in the first round of the tournament, but then lost four to Tennessee in the second round.

Long Horns was 7-1 in 2022 when Terry took over as interim coach and finished second in Big 12. After winning the Big 12 tournament title in the dominant fashion on Kansas, Long Horns was the number 2 seed in the NCAA tournament before losing 88-81 to Elite Eight.

Terry was enough to run the tournament to become the team’s permanent coach. But Texas could not maintain this success, though the school signed the Five Star Prosecutor Terry Johnson before the 2024-25 season. Johnson was the team’s highest scorer with about 20 points in each game.

The decision to move from Terry means that Texas has paid $ 5.4 million as part of a five -year contract after this Elite eight runs.

“I greatly appreciate that the University of Texas and our men’s basketball programs for 13 season, Terry said in a statement.” “It was my dream of becoming Long Horns’s head coach, and I have been able to revive that dream. I want to thank all my coaches and current and former players who not only helped win a lot of games, but even more importantly, this great university represented the first party.”

Miller just finished his second season in Zavar. He returned to school a year after a year out of college basketball. Miller remained in Arizona from 2009 to 2021, but was fired at the end of the 2021 season.

During this season, Arizona vacated the victory during his tenure due to the FBI’s corruption investigation in college basketball. As part of the investigation, Miller was accused of being involved in payments at the time to ensure that Dandri went to Arizona instead of Kansas.

Arizona created the NCAA tournament seven times during Miller’s reign, but Wild Cits lost the tournament in both 2019 and 2021. In Zavar, the Muscators have formed the NCAA tournament in six of Miller’s eight season and lost to Illinois in the first round on Friday night after defeating Texas.

Texas Athletic Director Chris Dell Concede considered Having the services of Miller two years ago, but the race for Terry’s Elite Eight agreed to it otherwise.

In Texas, Miller will be assigned to succeed in the resource -rich program, where it is difficult to achieve great success over the past two decades. Texas has not returned to the Final Four since 2003 and has lost 13 times since the first week of the tournament. In 2023, the Elite eight trip was the fourth time when Texas made progress in Sweet 16, since in 2003 the final national champion fell into the semi -finals led by TJ Ford.
