Passengers flying Spirit Airlines may be required to cover up certain tattoos or dress more for their next flight, according to the airline’s latest passenger agreement.
As of January 22, Spirit has updated it Vehicle contractwill announce the passengers If they are “barefoot or scantily clad, or have body art, including body art, that is lewd, lascivious, or offensive in nature.”
It also defines “insufficiently clothed” as “seeing clothing, inadequate covering, exposed breasts, buttocks or other private parts”.
Fashion choices have long been an issue for air travelers, as many have been rounded up and denied boarding, and in some cases, gone viral for their plight.
Spirit had previously banned barefoot passengers and clothing that was “deemed to be obscene, lewd or offensive in nature”, but the update to the agreement spelled out more.
In October, a woman named Tara Kehdi said she and a friend were asked to leave by a Spirit Flight attendant because they were wearing crop tops. The situation has also occurred on other airlines.
In 2019, American Airlines apologized to Latsha “Tisha” Roy after she said she was humiliated and told she couldn’t fly unless she covered up her strapless romper.
CNN has reached out to Spirit Airlines for further comment.
