South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola on Thursday emphasized his independent stance on global affairs, confirmed the country’s commitment to human dignity, equality and democratic values.

After US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced his remarks when he will not attend the next G20 summit in Johannesburg.
Rubio has accused South Africa of using its G20 House of Representatives to seize private property as well as climate policies, as well as diversity, equity, and involvement (DEI).

Lamola defended the recently adopted seized act of the country, saying it “is similar to the famous domain laws” and ensures that private property is not interfere with.
He emphasized that the South African G20 House of Representatives prefers more than just climate change, which aims to secure fair treatment for global southern countries and establish a more equal global system.
“We are determined to include the US government,” he added.
Separately, South Africa’s presidency said of X: “By resolving land claims, we are working to remove past injustice and provide appropriate opportunities to all South Africans.”
It noted that progress was underway, more than 9,000 people were already taking advantage of the claims of the already resolved land.
Johannesburg will host the G20 Foreign Ministers meeting on February 20-21.
South Africa took over the G20 presidency in December, and became the first African nation to lead a group of major economies.
The country is the largest economy in this country, followed by Egypt and Algeria.
