Police stopped two vans transporting more than two dozen Chinese immigrants in Coral Gables on Tuesday morning, almost a few days later, near 30 people involved in human trafficking operations in the city. –
Coral Gables police officials said they received a call about migrants who were likely to move to a van after 8am in the morning.
The officers responded and stopped and stopped at the 88th Street and Old Cutler Road area on the Old Cutler Road.
Police said that between the two vans, there were 26 Chinese immigrants, including 17 men and 9 women who were in the process of moving to an unknown location.
“We believe that they came by boat, they came to a deserted area around the southern end of the coral Gables,” said Police Chief Ed Hodak.
Hodak said two alleged smugglers, a Cuba and a Puerto Rican were detained by police and one firearms were recovered.

“They basically came to the coast in the same area, the two vans went in two different directions, Hodak said. “I can’t say exactly what they are connected, but this is one of the things that we had two weeks ago.”
Residents said they were surprised by the recent neighboring events.
“It is really a reality to be so close to the house,” said one woman. “Everyone was just surprised that it was going well through our home, because we really live on a small road that doesn’t really remember, you know, very wild.”
