The Senate on Monday confirmed Scott Basant as a Treasury Secretary, and raised the hedge fund manager in the new administration’s high financial job as President Donald Trump pushed forward on a promising economic agenda.
The vote was 68-29.
As the head of the Treasury, the 62 -year -old Basant is under pressure to deal with the federal debt limit and to increase Trump’s 2017 tax deduction and employment act with Congress Republican.
