- The Rochester City Council will vote for financing for the restoration of the community sports parks.
- The council will allow a contract of 000 20,000, with specific organizations.
There may be some improvement in the community sports parks around the city as the Rochester City Council is ready to vote on March 25 on the Pilot of the Community Sports Parks Rehabilitation Pilot.
Pilot seeks to support athletic activities hosted by the city’s green places and athletic sectors that provide limited funds to community sports organizations to maintain facilities.
With this vote, the Council will allow support contracts with the Charlotte Youth Athletic Association, Inc., Western New York’s pop warner Little Scholars Football League, Inc.6, ROCE6, Inc., and the South Side Little League.
These sponsorship agreements will support and maintain the ability to play these permitted facilities.
The maximum compensation for contracts will be 000 20,000, which provides financial support through the City Council and the clerk’s 2024- 25 budget.
The proposed projects for the pilot include buying an infield mix to eliminate drainage issues at the level of sports, game time security, and Lakros field setup and maintenance.
