Dir al -Bala, Gaza Strip – Qatar announced Monday morning that while reducing the first major crisis of Israel and Hamas, an Israeli citizen to release the hostages and allow Palestinians to return to northern Gaza. An agreement has been reached.
Qatar’s statement in the ceasefire talks says Hamas will hand over the hostage Arbil Judaud with two other hostages before Friday. Israeli authorities will allow Palestinians to return to northern Gaza on Monday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement that the release of the hostages – which would include soldiers Augam Burger – will take place on Thursday, and has confirmed that Palestinians can move north on Monday. The Israeli military said people could start walking at 7am.
Under the ceasefire agreement, Israel had to allow the Palestinians to return to northern Gaza on Saturday, but they stopped it because of the Jews, who said it should have been released that day. Hamas accused Israel of violating the deal.
The release of Jews and two others is in addition to the default for next week, when three hostages should be released.
In addition, Hamas said in a statement that the militant group has handed over the list of information about all the hostages released in the first phase of the ceasefire. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that it had received it.
Thousands of Palestinians have gathered, who are looking forward to the Netzarm transit from Gaza. Local health officials said Sunday that Israeli forces opened fire on the mob, killing two people and injuring nine.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump suggested that most of Gaza’s population be temporarily resettled in places, including Egypt and Jordan, to “clean” the war -torn enclave. Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinians rejected the fears that Israel might never allow refugees to return.
Senior Hamas official Basam Naeem said the Palestinians would never accept such a proposal, “even if apparently there is a good intention in the guise of reconstruction.” He said that if Israel ends its blockade, the Palestinian Gaza can be “better than ever”.
Conflicts and firing are a test of ceasefire failure.
According to Auda Hospital, Israeli forces opened fire on a crowd waiting on three occasions by night and Sunday, killing two people and injuring nine, including a child.
The Israeli military said in a statement that it had “fired warnings at several gatherings of dozens of suspects that were moving towards the soldiers and were a threat to them.”
Israel has withdrawn from several parts of Gaza under a ceasefire imposed last Sunday. The army has warned people to stay away from their forces, which are still operating along the border inside Gaza and in the buffer zone in the Natzar Corridor.
Hamas released four women Israeli soldiers on Saturday, and Israel released about 200 Palestinian prisoners, most of them serving life imprisonment for deadly attacks. But Israel said the Jews should have been released before the soldiers.
Hamas said it has told mediators – the United States, Egypt and Qatar that the Jews are alive and have given bail that it will be released.
Palestinians waiting for the north increased as frustration as some people warmed around the bonfire against the winter cold.
“We have been in agony for a year and a half,” Nadia Qasim said.
“The fate of more than a million people is linked to a person,” said Fadi al -Sanawar, who was displaced from the city of Gaza.
“See how valuable we are? We are useless,” he said.
The end of the war will be difficult.
The purpose of the ceasefire is to end Hamas’s 15 -month war, which began on October 7, 2023, and the attacks are still released in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Gaza. About 90 hostages are still in Gaza, and Israeli officials believe that at least one -third and half have died.
The hostages of Iair and Eitan Horn, Itzik Horn, called the restoration of the war a “death sentence for the hostages” and criticized the government ministers who wanted to continue the war.
The first phase of the ceasefire lasts until early March and includes the release of 33 kidnappers and about 2000 Palestinian prisoners. Second – and more difficult – the phase, is yet to be discussed. Hamas has said it will not release the rest of the hostages without the end of the war, while Israel has threatened that it will resume its attack until Hamas is destroyed.
Hamas -led militants killed about 1,200 people in the October 7 attack, most of them civilians, and about 250 were abducted. More than 100 was released during the one -week ceasefire in November 2023. At least three of them were mistakenly killed by Israeli forces. Seven has been released in the latest ceasefire.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, more than 47,000 Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli military campaign, more than half of whom are women and children. It was not said how many fighters were among the dead. The Israeli military says it has killed more than 17,000 fighters without providing evidence.
Israeli bombing and ground operations have demolished a large part of Gaza and has been displaced by about 90 % of its 2.3 million population. Since the ceasefire began, many people returning to their homes have only found piles of rubble.
