Punjab police arrest 3 suspects in Lahore gang-rape case – Pakistan

According to a police statement, Punjab police on Monday arrested three suspects in Lahore for allegedly gang -rape.

“The suspects were arrested within two hours of the report,” said a Punjab police statement, adding that all three were arrested while raiding to arrest the fourth suspect.

The statement added that Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran is personally overseeing all the operations of the case.

The statement said that at the Chung police station, a case was registered against the suspects under Section 375A (gang rap) of the Pakistan Code of Conduct.

The statement quoted DIG Kamran as saying, “One of the suspects called the victim to Lahore from Sahiwal and stayed at his relatives’ house.” “According to a preliminary investigation, the suspects attacked the victim for two consecutive days.”

The DIG added that full legal and medical help is being provided to the victim. “The suspects involved in the abominable crime will be brought to justice.”

Despite the presence of laws against rape, the sentence is either sentenced to death or imprisonment between the ages of 10 to 25 years with the punishment of the Darius-cases are underway in the country.
