PM Shehbaz speaks in Quetta after Jaffar Express train attack – Pakistan

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is addressing Quetta after a visit to Balochistan as a result of a terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express train.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the train, traveling from Quetta to Peshawar and carrying 440 passengers, was banned by Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) militant group terrorists. They opened fire on the train and took the passengers hostage, indicating security forces to launch a two -day operation.

On Wednesday evening, Director General of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) LT General LT General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that the operation had ended, there are 33 terrorists at the site of the attack. The head of the ISPR also confirmed that 21 passengers and four Frontier Corps personnel were washed away in the hijacking, but no hostage was harmed during the final phase of rescue.

Prime Minister Shahbaz accompanied federal ministers and other officials to Quetta on a one -day visit today.

Premier presided over a high -level meeting to assess the security situation, where he was told about the current law and order situation in Balochistan, including the recent terrorist attacks.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the officials gathered at a time when the entire nation was mourning the attack.

Pushing the terrorists, he said that he did not care about the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan and made some of them hostage innocent civilians. “Such an incident may have never happened in the country of Pakistan before,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that the subsequent plan has been adopted aimed at saving the hostages and eliminating terrorists. He added that 339 passengers were rescued while 33 terrorists were “sent to hell”.

“Peace cannot be established in Pakistan unless terrorism is completely eliminated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.”

The Prime Minister warned that if the threat of terrorism is not eliminated from the country, then Pakistan’s existence is in danger.
