ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Monday that Pakistan had achieved economic stability last year with the help of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program.
Talking to Pakistani business leaders and investors in Dubai, the Prime Minister said that the macro -level economy has gradually improved as inflation has dropped to 12pc in January.
He claimed that exports have increased compared to the previous year and that Pakistanis abroad have paid more than $ 3 billion, which was “recorded”.
According to the latest data, exports in January were $ 2.92bn, up to 4.59pc compared to 79 2.79bn in the same month last year.

He said that the country would have to overcome severe financial challenges and the government was “going in the right direction” to achieve economic growth.
“Our efforts are focused on some important areas, including mining and minerals,” he told the gathering.
The Prime Minister added that Pakistan was also working with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to withdraw its many mineral resources.
He said that the sector worth the trillions of dollars of mining was not developed by other governments, which was “unfortunate”.
He said that another area of ​​important importance is information technology.
He noted, “60 percent of Pakistan’s population is 15 to 30 years old,” he added that promoting youth in this sector can help bring about economic change.
Prime Minister Shahbaz said that Pakistan had received immense resources in the agriculture sector, but in the last decades, an acre production has been modest as modern techniques and technology were not introduced.
He added, “Many countries went beyond Pakistan in the preparation of rice, sugar, cotton and wheat and we were lagging behind our neighboring countries.”
He said the government was providing financing a program to send 1,000 fresh graduates from agriculture sectors for training.
He expressed the hope that after his return, these students would be “equipped with modern knowledge” to help the country increase their agricultural production.
The Prime Minister emphasized that for better economic growth, Pakistan will have to convert its agriculture production into value -added products.
“We need to focus with full dedication and determination so that we can move forward to achieve the economy’s results,” he said.
He assured the businessman that his government would include his suggestions in his economic program.
Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived to attend a two -day official visit to the United Arab Emirates World Governments Summit (Wgs)
He was invited by the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Alkalom.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Mr Sharif will present an important address in the WGS, highlighting Pakistan’s vision for comprehensive economic growth, digital change and governance reform.
He will also meet with the United Arab Emirates leadership and heads of state with participating countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Ahad Chima, Mohammad Aurangzeb, Awes Legacy and Atula Taraar, and the Prime Minister of the Prime Minister are with the Prime Minister.
