ISLAMABAD: Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi announced on Tuesday that drone surveillance will be launched for all train works in Balochistan, while CCTV cameras are also being installed at railway stations and other sensitive places in the province and other parts of the country to ensure further security.
Presiding over a meeting, the Minister announced that the Jaffar Express would resume its operations only after its route was completely restored. The train service was suspended after the railway track was flown in the recent attack.
The Minister asked the Pakistan Railway officials to adopt the latest security technologies and to improve emergency preparations to guarantee a safe travel environment for travelers at all times.
Mr Abbasi emphasized that the safety and security of passengers should always be a priority in railway operations.

The Minister said that the railway infrastructure needs to be upgraded, especially to focus on modernizing the tracks, stations and rolling stocks to ensure smooth and sharp services, adding that the introduction of more advanced and comfortable trains will encourage passengers to make PR their preferred choice for travel.
The meeting was held to review the existing operations of Pakistan Railways, tackle the ongoing challenges, and develop a strategy to improve the future, which was attended by all stakeholders.
During the meeting, the minister took detailed note on the operational aspects of PR, including train schedule, passenger services, technical operations, and safety protocols.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining a smooth and effective operational flow to ensure timely arrival and departure of the trains, and demanded a collective effort from all stakeholders to ensure that the trains are time restrictions and the services meet the highest standards of performance.
Mr Abbasi highlighted the importance of an efficient customer service, and emphasized all stakeholders to maintain advanced professionalism, courtesy and helper while talking to passengers.
He called for a better contact between the railway staff and the passengers to ensure that the passengers were well aware of the train hours, delays and obstacles to any service.
He also talked about the economic capacity of Pakistan Railways, and asked PRK Commercial Wing officials to look for new taxes through the private sector, improve freight services, improve freight services, and development of tourism -based services.
He pointed out that Pakistan can act as a catalyst for economic growth and social development, with its extensive network and vigorous heritage.
