According to a news agency PTI report, the crime came out two months after the incident when a skull was found inside a travel bag in Veerr.

The accused, Harish Happurgi, was arrested from Nilsopara East in the outskirts of Mumbai, when investigators traced important evidence connecting him to the murder.

What happened

According to police, Hippergi, who worked in the imitation jewelry industry, lived with his wife, Atapala (51) and his 22 -year -old son. There were repeated disputes between the couple, especially on the son of Etapala from the previous marriage.

On January 8, during a similar repetition, Hippergi allegedly strangled the death grass. In an attempt to hide the crime, he shifted his body to Vera East, where he cut off his head using suspicion.

Police said the torso was thrown into the drain, while the disconnected head was filled in a travel bag and left near Pirkonda Dargah.

To mislead his son, the accused claimed that Etapala had left for his hometown in West Bengal. However, the crime came on Friday when authorities found a skull inside a travel bag in Veerr.

Investigators found a pouch from the jewelry store in 24 Pergnose District, Bengal, which led to them in the name of Etapala in the customer record.

On further investigation, police found that Atapala’s phone had been closed for two months. Hippergi also went into hiding and changing his residence and shutting down his mobile number. After following several leads, police rushed him to Rahmat Nagar in Nalsopara and arrested him late Friday night.

Authorities are now looking for a torso of the murder.
