OCMD Boardwalk business Tony's Pizza has closed: Here's what's to come

Tony’s pizza, Beloved Ocean City, Maryland, Board Walk business that is known to serve fresh pizza pies that melt with your mouth cheese, no matter what.

Now, the building is underway at 3 Atlantic Avenue near the Board Walk Arcway in Ocean City. Pizaria’s permanent closure, which gave birth to disturbing online, comes after Tony Russia B (b (b ( Owner and operator of Tony’s pizza B (b (b ( Passed away on June 1, 2023.

In 1960, after his mother moved from Sicily to the United States at the age of 19, Russia opened Tony’s pizza on the board walk in 1962. Seasonal Pie Joint celebrated its 60th birthday in 2022.

The renovation of the building began in the end of 2024. During this time, the famous statue of Tony’s pizza chef was removed from the roof deck and placed on the ground. The statue was later seen in January 2025 covered in snow during the winter storm Blair.

Ocean City’s Planning and Zoning Commission has recently approved a site plan and tenant fitout proposal for Tony’s former pizza property. Now, a new Met and Tat companies are working LLC restaurants.

The first floor of the new restaurant is said to include the kitchen area, twice the area, food space and room room. The second floor will include the kitchen area, bar, dining room and office space.

The official name of the restaurant has not yet been unveiled.
