The Fort Worth police have launched an investigation when an officer opened fire on a man who fired his weapon on Wednesday.
Police said they were invited to a restaurant at 1100 block of Terminal Road on Wednesday at 3:50 am to check the commercial thief alarm and an open door.
Since the officers examined the enthusiasts or forcibly forcibly, they saw a man who had a gun in the back of the business. Police said the officers told the man to show them his hands but he did not immediately comply.
“For fear of protecting them, an officer fired his duty weapon at the man,” police said. “He was not targeted. The man immediately complied with the officer’s orders and was taken into custody.”
Police said the man was released after confirming that he was a business owner.
No one was reported injured.
The restaurant and storage area has been broken in the back of the property, the department said. The police did not say, what was taken if anything was taken. No suspects have been identified nor any arrests have been announced.
The Fort Worth Police Department’s Major Case Unit, in conjunction with internal affairs, continues to investigate the firing, which the department has said is a standard procedure.
