The National Football League is going down.

The NFL announced Wednesday that it would host a regular season game in Australia in 2026.

The Los Angeles Ramus will be the nominated home team at the Australian shrine Melbourne Cricket Ground. They will play against an opponent who will later be revealed.

NFL Commissioner Roger Godel said in a statement, “A beautiful city of sports history, spreading to Melbourne, Australia, indicates our ambitions to become a global game and accelerate international growth.”

“We look forward to making history what is an important market for the NFL and is an important next step to increase our international maps.”

Ramus owner Stanley Kroonk said this is an “exciting day” for the nation of Rams globally.

“When we first identified Australia as one of our global markets, it was not only because of our enthusiastic fans who live there, but also the reason that Los Angeles took the Pacific of the Pacific. The gateway and the Pacific have played an important role in serving for many countries, “Cruon said in a statement.

“Today is an exciting day for Rams’ fans around the world, especially in Australia, where our players and organization have been warmly welcomed for the past few years, when we have been on the market today.”

Along with Ramus, Philadelphia Eagles have the rights to marketing in the continent.

The league said Australia is a “major global market” for the NFL, and its fan is 6.6 million.

“We are very happy that the NFL will start touching the NFL in the Australian Games capital,” Victoria’s premiere Jackanta Allen said in a statement. “It’s a job win, winning for business and fans who will see American football playing in the famous MCG.”

The 2026 game is not the first part of the league in Australia. Denver Broncos faced San Diego Chargers in the 1999 forecast game in Sydney.

The NFL has played 55 regular season games internationally, including London, Mexico City, Toronto, Sao Paulo, Brazil and two German cities – Munich and Frankfurt – host.
