This warning has emerged after two adults were found dead in the mill pond in Austin. The birds were on the coast of the Cedar River.
A resident took a picture of the birds and shared it with the River Cedar Watershed District.
Any other local reports from dead birds or other animal groups should be reported to Moor County Health and Human Services. The phone number is 507-437-9701.
“While the risk is low to the public,” says Sally Gary, the Community Health Supervisor of Maoor County Health and Human Services, but monitoring infectious agents such as Avian influenza, a basic health duty to keep our community safe and healthy. “
