Move means Buc-ees is step closer to building travel center near Kansas Speedway

Kansas City, Ear.

The Bok-AS is planning to include the Bok-AS Travel Center in the area when the County snatched a land after approval of the sale of nearly around Interstate 435 and Interstate 70. County Commissioners agreed to remove the property from the Cell Tax Revenue (Star) Bond District for sale permission. Due to how the roads were designed for this area, a small portion of the land remained in the Star Bond District.

The Commissioners of the Vandotti County voted March 3 to remove the property from the special tax district.

The Planning Commission is expected to hear the project during a meeting on April 14. If the commissioners give final approval, BUC-EES will be allowed to move forward with the project.

Previous projects show that the travel center is expected to approach about 74 74,000 square feet.

The center is expected to include 120 gas pumps and 12 electric charging stations. The project is expected to cost about $ 95 million.

The Bok-AS said that once the staff will take about 24 months to break the ground.

On one occasion, Bok-AS said it was expected to break the project in May. It is unclear how the delay in buying property has affected this timeline.
