A new move that aims to improve access to mental health services for people with diverse background.
The community connector project organized a launch event at Northampton’s Grocener Center on Friday to help individuals connect with mental health.
The project, led by the Northamptonshire Mind, has been trying to promote the community’s strong relationship and provide a culturally careful care.
“We are exempt from it when we are not,” said Lendra Lichmor, one of the volunteers of the Northamptonshire Mind.
“Despite your race, we all face mental health problems … and eventually they’ll be more comfortable and confident in talking [their mental health issues] Because they will realize that this is normal. “
The 21 -year -old is one of the Charity Community Connector in Northampton, and said the mind has been “very helpful” with his mental health issues.

The move will also train mental health ambassadors. Volunteers who will be trained to listen to awareness, safety and help others in their communities.
“I think the project will make a lot of difference,” said Stacey Brian, another community connector at the Northamptonshire Mind.
“I have already reacted to a massive positive response, and is screaming out loud about [mental health]… help yourself. “
The project is provided by the National Lottery by October 2027.
