Map Shows Highest Level Warnings Issued to Americans Traveling

The US Department of State is urging Americans not to travel to 21 countries that are more likely to be life -threatening threats.

Why does it make a difference

The State Department considers a number of factors when issuing travel advice, including crime, terrorism, urban unrest, health, the possibility of natural catastrophe and current events.

What to know?

The Department of State uses a level system to indicate how safe it is to go to a destination. Level 4 represents a high level of risk. Any American citizen is already advised in a country with the position of Level 4 that he is safe.

The State Department has recommended that the US travel to a destination under US Level 4 should write a will and leave DNA samples in case of the worst situation.

Level 4 advice issued

Currently there are 21 countries under a level 4 advisory.

Afghanistan was issued a level 4 due to urban unrest, crime, terrorism, wrongdoing, kidnapping and limited health facilities.

Passengers are urged not to go to Belarus due to the discretionary implementation of local laws, the threat of detention, the continuous facility of the Russian war against Ukraine, the potential civil unrest and the limited capacity of the US embassy.

Burkina Faso is under Level 4 Advisory due to terrorism, crime and kidnapping.

US citizens are advised not to travel to Myanmar due to civil unrest, armed conflict, and implementation of local laws.

The Central African Republic advised a level 4 for armed conflicts, crime, civil unrest, kidnapping, and providing assistance to US citizens.

Passengers are urged not to go to the Democratic Republic of Congo due to armed conflict, crime, civil unrest, kidnapping and terrorism.

Haiti is under level 4 due to kidnapping, crime, urban unrest and limited health care.

Americans are advised not to travel to Iran because of terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, discretionary arrest of US citizens and the threat of misconceptions. Americans are also urging me to travel to Iraq because of terrorism, kidnapping, armed conflict, civil unrest and limited capability to help US citizens.

Lebanon was issued Level 4 due to the threat of crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, unmanaged land and armed conflict.

Libya is consulted with level 4 due to crime, terrorism, unmanaged land mines, urban unrest, kidnapping and armed conflict.

Passengers are urged not to be financed by crime, terrorism and kidnapping.

US passports are wrong for North Korea’s trip unless the Secretary is exclusively validated under the Foreign Secretary. Special verification is given in very limited conditions. The serious threat of North Korea’s arrest and the long -term detention of US citizens is under level 4.

Americans are urged not to travel to Russia because of the Russian military’s attack on Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry said that US citizens may face harassment or detention by Russian security officials, the implementation of local laws, the possibility of flights in and outside Russia and outside can be limited. The US Embassy has a limited ability to help US citizens in Russia.

Ukraine is also under Level 4 Advisory due to the dispute. People traveling along the frontline Regions or Ukraine Belarus may face boundaries on Russian and Belarus military and security presence, active ground fighting, frequent shelling, missiles and drone strikes and embassy aid capacity.

Passengers are advised not to go to Somalia due to lack of crime, terrorism, urban unrest, health problems, kidnapping, pirate and normal consular services.

South Sudan was issued Level 4 due to crime, kidnapping and armed conflict. Sudan is also under a level 4 consultation for the same concerns besides urban unrest and terrorism.

US citizens are urged not to travel to Syria due to terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, hostage, armed conflict and illicit detention.

Venezuela is called a level 4 due to wrongdoing, terrorism, abduction, local laws, crime, urban unrest and high risk of poor health infrastructure.

Passengers are advised not to go to Yemen due to terrorism, civil unrest, crime, health risks, kidnapping, armed conflict and land mines.
