In a statement read on State TV on Wednesday evening, he said the withdrawal of troops would “pave the way for their planned talks towards lasting peace”.

On Monday, Rwanda -backed M -3 rebel group announced a “unilateral ceasefire” for human reasons, which began the next day.

Malawi’s president has been under pressure to withdraw his country’s forces from Dr. Congo after the death of peace troops.
South Africa have faced similar pressure, but President Searle Ramfosa has vowed to keep his army in Dr. Congo, saying he is subject to the Samidrc mission “which has operational time frames and deadline.” The mission was initially deployed in 2023 and was extended by December last year.
Since his arrest on Goma, rebels have been trying to occupy areas in the southern Qi, especially the capital Bokau. Congress officials have added hundreds of civilian volunteers to help defend the city.
The rebel group has appointed senior officials, including the North Qi Governor, for the management of the area.
