The County Board of Commissioners have been renovating $ 1.2 million last week following the approval of the date renovation plans for renovation plans.
Commissioner Nick Fani, who was one of the “yes” votes of renovation, said, “What we are thinking of doing is to increase the health performance of the department through both clinical space and office renovation.”
Fiani says the focus of this renovation will be around to improve the building, update the tech inside and refresh office furniture.
“Since 1997 or more, the building has not really been updated,” said Fani. “Some areas will be able to improve and enhance and re -design some areas of some areas of the department and to help more and more people at the same time.”
The money for renovation is coming from the grant of disease control and prevention centers and from the health department itself.
“The County General Fund will have no financial support, and this is a positive aspect,” said Fani. “This shows that the Department of Health has taken the initiative to work independently when it comes to its financial income and expenses.”
Fiani says the CDC funds were in no danger of being frozen as a federal because the money was already allocated and received. He voted to approve the renovation as a new place could attract more and more people.
“I think increasing your opportunities to provide services to the public for the health department is another remarkable opportunity,” said Fani.
