Lakki Marwat: The body of a kidnapped agreement was recovered from the uneven region of the remote Zarifwal area of Zarifwal area of Lakki Marwat district on Saturday.
An elder, requesting anonymity, said that local elders, relatives of the hostages and armed members of civil organizations had entered the area in search of the abducted employees.
The elder said, “They went there on Friday after hearing the news about the militants’ shelling on the hideout of the militants.”
However, there has been no official confirmation of this operation. The Pakistan Army’s Media Wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has not issued a statement about targeting the whereabouts.
A video circulating on social media depicts armed elders and residents in the mountainous area. The elder revealed that the kidnappers handed over Rehanullah’s body to the elders. The body was later shifted to Government City Hospital.
He also confirmed that the elders received the release of coach Nawaz Khan, who was abducted by PAEC contract workers on January 9. “Elders are talking to militant leaders to discuss the safe release of hostages.
After Medico-Lawyan formal customs at the hospital, Rehanullah’s body was handed over to his relatives. After attending a large number of people from across the district, he was laid to rest in a local cemetery.
Meanwhile, all the shopkeeper’s office bearers announced a complete shutter down strike in Lakki Marwat City on Monday following a call from the Grand Jirga.
Addressing a press conference, he said the business community would provide full support to the elders to ensure the safe release of the hostages. Traders also announced their participation in the upcoming protests.
