On Tuesday, a federal judge banned President Donald Trump’s executive order from banning military services.
US District District Judge Anna C. Raees issued a preliminary order, allowing trans members to continue services in the military, and it was decided that the new policy violated the provision of equal protection of the constitution. “In fact, the cruelty is that thousands of transgender servicemen have sacrificed-some are endangering their lives-so that the rights of protection for others can be ensured that military bans try to deny them.” Opinion.
The judge delayed the impact of his order by Friday to give the Trump administration time to appeal.
The policy must have removed the transgender soldiers from the ranks, and held his office on the first day after a January executive order signed by Trump. In this order, the president has claimed that “the expression of different ‘gender identities’ from the sex of an individual cannot meet the stringent standards needed for military services,” he added, adding that being a transgender service member, “is a distinguished, truthful and disciplinary lifestyle of a soldier.
In this order, the Secretary of Defense Pet Hegsith was also directed to look at the Pentagon’s policy that ruled the trans service members. A group of transgender members of the army challenged the order in which they tried to stop military services, saying it violated their constitutional rights. Raees highlighted that the backdrop of the plaintiffs also included members of the service who served in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait, and received more than 80 decorations, including bronze star, two global war against terrorist service medals, numerous service medals, and more.
Raees called the statement that transgender people are not honorable, true or disciplined “pure speculation”, further emphasizing that Trump’s executive order and the Department of Defense’s policy “do not provide anything to support the defendant’s idea that transgender is not a military service.”
“The court knows that this opinion will have public debates and appeals
Healthy democracy has both positive results, “Raees concluded. Because, as Elmer Davis observed, ‘[t]His nation will remain the land of free only as long as it is a brave house. ” ‘
