Jaffar Express to resume operations from today: railways minister – Pakistan

Federal Minister for Railways Mohammad Hanif Abbasi has said that Jaffar Express will resume his work from today, with a government run. Radio Pakistan Notified on Tuesday.

Last week, the Pakistan Railways (PR) suspended its entire operations from Balochistan and vice versa from Punjab and Sindh after a terrorist attack on Jaffar Express.

Jafar Express was attacked on Tuesday afternoon when terrorists of Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attacked a train connected to Peshawar, which took 440 passengers with firing and hostage. As a result, security forces launched an operation that lasted for two days.

On Wednesday evening, Director General of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) LT General LT General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that the operation had ended, killing 33 terrorists. The ISPR chief also said that 26 hostages, including 18 security personnel, lost their lives but no hostages were harmed during the final phase of rescue. Five more security personnel were martyred during the operation.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament House in Islamabad, Railway Minister said that drone surveillance for train operations in Balochistan will be launched, Radio Pakistan Notified.

“The service was suspended after damaging the railway track in the recent attack, but now it has been completely restored,” he added.

He added that CCTV cameras are also being installed at railway stations and other sensitive places across the country to improve security. Radio Pakistan.

Earlier on Saturday, Abbasi announced a package of Rs 5.2 million for the families of the victims of the Jaffar Express train attack, along with their children’s jobs in their ministry.

The Federal Investigation Agency on Monday also arrested a suspect involved in the alleged “anti -state campaign” on social media in connection with the Jaffar Express attack from Benigala on the outskirts of Islamabad on Monday, and was later presented to a judge who sent him three days on physical remand.
