India batter Virat Kohli not ready to retire – Sport

Indian batsman Virat Kohli said he might not have a second visit to Australia after his team’s 3-1 Test series, but the 36-year-old has refused to retire at any time as he still enjoys playing the game.

Kohli had long arrested a poor shape with an unbeaten ton in the opening test of the series in Perth in November, but often chased balls off his stump and managed 190 runs at an average of 23.75.

Addressing the RCB Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit on Saturday, Kohli said the decline reminds him of his disappointing run in England in 2014, where he scored 134 runs.

“If you ask me how disappointed I am, the recent visit to Australia will be the most recent. So it may feel the most severe,” Kohli said.

“For a long time, a visit to England in 2014 made me the most bothered. But I can’t look like that. I may not be the Australian tour again in four years. I don’t know You have to reconcile with what happened in your life.

Kohli left the Twenty20 international after winning the World Cup of India last year, but he continues to play in the Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He was a key member of the Test team in India, and played a major role in his 50 overs Champions Trophy Trophy last week.

Kohli added, “Playing the game is not for successes.”

He said that this comes a lot to pure happiness and enjoyment and love for the game. As long as this love remains, I will continue to play games. I have to be honest about it with me.

“Don’t panic, I’m not making any announcements, everything is fine right now.”
