The Ministry of Finance said on Sunday that a three -member International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission will visit Pakistan for diagnostic assessment of governance and corruption under the expansion fund facility program in 2024.
The ministry added that the report would recommend measures to tackle corruption and strengthen integrity and governance, and noted that these results would help create structural reforms.
“The focus of the mission will be to examine the severity of corruption risks in six basic state activities. These include financial governance, central bank governance and operations, monitoring of financial sector, market regulation, rule of law, and AML-CFT. –
The Pakistan government welcomed the IMFS technical assistance and said that this diagnosis would help in efforts to promote transparency and institutional capacity.
The country, which is currently powered by the IMF’s $ 7 billion convenience in September, is going on economic rehabilitation.
The IMF is ready to review the country’s progress by March, the government and the central bank have expressed confidence in meeting their goals.
