Dolis, W. (7News) – According to a local epidemiologist, the best way to protect one’s self from being suffering from measles is that according to a local pandemicologist.
“Should we be afraid that there are growing issues, it is spreading huge,” said Emily Smith, a pandemic specialist at the Milkyan Institute of Public Health, George Washington.
Health officials have issued a measles exhibition alert for these individuals on Friday afternoon at Johns Hopkins Howard County on Wednesday afternoon or at the Pediatric Emergency Department.
Smith emphasized the importance of vaccination in preventing the virus.

Smith said, “I think it’s difficult because we don’t see many cases of measles anymore.” “Most of us, maybe my grandfather, don’t remember when the measles was common and many children died of measles because we had access to it.”
He assured the public that those who have previously signed or vaccinated measles are safe from life.
Smith also noted that more than 90 % of the DMV area has already been vaccinated against measles.
