A Florida circuit judge on Monday denied the Pulitzer Board’s request from Donald Trump to stop the defamation trial until he was out of the office of president.
The decision of the 19th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Robert L. Pig has presented a blow to the board at the end of Monday, indicating in January that the president has tried to maintain civil cases in which he is the defendant. But this is a major victory for Trump, which is actively fighting against the news media publishers, which she dislikes.
Trump sued the board in 2022, after defending the 2018 National Reporting Prize for the 2018 National Reporting Prize for his alleged contacts with the Trump campaign in the 2016 elections and defending the Board in 2022, after defending his decision to award the 2018 National Reporting Prize to the Washington Post and the New York Times.

Nevertheless, Peg supported the president, whose team argued that he was the best mediator of what would be the president’s removal of his duties.
“If the president’s duties interfere with his ability to carry out his responsibilities in this process, he is definitely entitled to seek appropriate relief,” Pag wrote.
Trump’s lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Peg added that in a case when Trump does not get relief but fails to comply with the court rules, the Pulitzer Board can still apply for “appropriate restrictions” – which includes fines, expenses, lawyer fees or dismissal.
In a statement on Monday, a spokesman for the Pulitzer Board criticized the pressure to continue his case during his stay in his case. Delaware and New York.
The spokesperson said, “allowing any president to comply with civilian claims against private citizens in the state court, while simultaneously claim that private citizens cannot pursue civilian claims against him in the same court and should raise concerns for all Americans,” he said.
Trump has for years demanded that the board restore the 2018 prize, in the debate that the report of Special Advisor Robert Muller’s 2019 report – which found that the members of the Trump campaign had not “conspired with the Russian government in electoral interference activities”. But this report did not clear Trump himself with wrongdoing.
Although the Pag decision is not surprising, Trump can still decide to quit the case, assuming that he wants it to be over. The petition is not bound in other courts, though it may be that if this question is raised at the federal level in view of the constitutional nature of the legalism.
The legislature is one of many people who have brought the president against the media organizations, which he has called for “promoting distrust of media organizations, halting hamstring organizations financially hamstring organizations and law and ordering to stop reporting.” In December, ABC News owned by Disney, Trump, filed a defamation case brought by Trump for $ 15 million, while CBS News Parents Paramount Former Vice President Kamla Harris is fighting Trump’s legalization during his “60 -minute” sit -in.
