First ‘Made in Pakistan’ expo opens in Jeddah – World

Jeddah: Commerce Minister Jamal Kamal Khan on Thursday showed football to Saudi Assistant Minister of Investment Minister Ibrahim al -Karkar at Pakistan Expo.

ISLAMABAD: Commerce Minister Jamal Kamal Khan on Thursday inaugurated the country’s ‘Pakistan’ single country exhibition in Jeddah, which identified an important step towards enhancing trade relations with Saudi Arabia.

Addressing a gathering of Saudi officials, business leaders and diplomats, the Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and displaying diverse industrial capabilities of Pakistan.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the Minister highlighted various aspects of Pakistan Saudi economic relations. In his keynote speech, Jam Kamal Khan thanked Saudi Arabia for his support for the exhibition. He said, this incident is a proof of lasting relations between the two countries, with a joint belief, cultural relations and strategic partnership.

He highlighted that the exhibition served as a platform for offering Pakistan’s best products and services, including textile, sports equipment, light engineering, food, construction equipment and more.

The Minister of Commerce says the government is committed to enhance trade relations with Saudi Arabia.

The Minister pointed out the government’s commitment to enhance trade and investment relations with Saudi Arabia through strategic economic measures.

He said that Pakistan’s developing industrial base and dynamic economy have offered immense potential for mutual cooperation, especially in areas such as food security, energy, mining and human resource development.

Mr Khan said, “Our government is dedicated to promoting an investment -driven environment, and Saudi Arabia, with its vision 2030, is ideally in position to take advantage of these opportunities.” He also highlighted the role of Special Investment Facility (SIFC) in giving priority to Saudi investment in Pakistan.

He praised the contribution of 2.7 million strong Pakistani Daspura in Saudi Arabia, and called it the basis for bilateral relations.

He highlighted that more than 1.7 million Pakistani workers have moved to Saudi Arabia in the last five years, making it the first destination for the migrants.

The minister emphasized the need for joint efforts to develop skills to further enhance employment opportunities for Pakistanis in the kingdom.

The Minister proudly showcased Pakistan’s world -renowned football manufacturing industry at the exhibition. He congratulated Saudi Arabia on winning the bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup and expressed confidence that Pakistan would continue its inheritance to create football for this dignity.

“From Brazoka to Tel Star, Pakistani footballs have a full history of FIFA. We look forward to cooperating in FIFA 2034,” he said.

Mr Khan called for deep cooperation between Pakistani and Saudi businesses, emphasizing the possibility of joint ventures targeting markets in Africa, Central Asia and the Far East.
