Dr. Sara Cody, Santa Clara County’s top health leader retiring

Santa Clara County’s Public Health Officer, who led the County’s active coal response, announced his retirement on Tuesday.

Dr. Sara Koddy, director of Santa Clara County Public Health, will retire after 12 years in April and after more than 25 years in public health.

Codi joined the Santa Clara County Public Health Health Department in 1998 because as a controller and deputy health officer of communication diseases, investigating informed diseases and outbreaks, the public health care planning, and a response to the emergency of the public. He was promoted to the County Health Officer in 2013 and became the Director of the Department in 2015.
