The case had applied investigators for almost two decades: two -year -old father Jason Writer was stabbed to his Salt Lake City Area’s house.
There were no signs of forced admission and there was no clear purpose. Very few for spies and Mr. Writer’s relatives, including his adult children, are now involved in the unforeseen massacres.
But during a news conference on Friday, a homeless man, 53 -year -old Mark Manoz, was arrested in the murder of Mr Writer, but as a result, a DNA hit provided progress in the cold case.
In a briefing organized by the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s office, Mr Writer’s two sisters and his son joined investigators for the announcement that Mr Manoz had been accused.
“I know it may be a halt,” said Nikki Price, one of Mr Writer’s sisters. “They don’t stop until it works.”
Investigators said that the DNA collected from Mr Writer’s house in Utah’s Maguna resembled a sample that was collected from Mr. Manoz, a national forensic database used by law enforcement agencies I was included when he was arrested in a separate case. State
He declined to say that citing the ongoing investigation into the murder of Mr Writer, the second matter was from what state or what.
“These matters get cold,” said Rosie Rowera, Salt Lake County, at a news conference. “Some of them are 10 years, 20 years, 50 years.”
It was not immediately clear whether Mr Manoz, who was taken into custody on Thursday, was a lawyer. Requests were left with the Salt Lake Legal Defnder Association and the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s office to comment.
Ben Pinder, a spy investigating the cold case on Friday, said Mr Manoz had difficulty detecting him because of his temporary background.
“He really doesn’t have a stable housing,” he said.
Sheriff Rowera said that investigators had not yet established any purpose in the matter and Mr Manoz was not cooperating with investigators.
“He knows what happened,” he said. “We don’t.”
