However, some business owners and residents believe that there will be more crowds and it will be difficult for people to spend the night in the neighborhood.
A festival of St. Patrick Day filled the streets of the deep Elm neighborhood in Dallas, which is complete with road closures.
“This is a great time, but there is never any parking,” said Makhiya Vilraj.
“I think it is unnecessary, and I think, especially with the apartment complex, is facing the same problem. It is a lot of construction,” said patron Smith.
The beef -up attempt includes closures on Main and Elm Stretes around 10pm on Friday and Saturday. More police officers will instruct traffic and patrol.
“I think, in general, it is bad for people living here because it will clearly delay,” said resident Patten Nelson.
“I think if you are either visiting or if you are walking, it is fine in terms of safety because you have more guidance to navigate these restrictions,” said resident Nick Pena said.
Many deep Elm business owners said they hope to meet the Dallas police and talk about their concerns about how the road closure is affecting their bottom.
Traffic control has been in deep alum for almost three years. Dan Murri said he had negatively affected the business in his two deep Elm Establishment, Armori D and ruins.
“Sales were immediately declined during Friday and Saturday nights as they were shutting down roads every weekend, Mori said.
Ivan Klistad has jointly owned the Trinity Sider for seven years.
“Our business relys on Uber Eight and Gerbab. We have the best restaurants in Dallas, which are filled with three bars here. If their cars cannot enter, the food cannot go out.” “Also, we have 30 places that play music directly in these few blocks. The band needs to be able to go in and go out.”
Both business owners know what they will do instead of closing the roads.
“What we want to see is DPD and is more focused on community policing of this city, trying to ensure that individual, small crimes, and such things have been resolved against merely quitting the entire area,” Mori said.
“Especially with trade -related buildings, I think Main and Elm need to be opened,” said Klstad.
The crime in the deep Elm has been a concern, but Dallas police reported in 2024 that it was going downEspecially violent crime.
“I think the streets closure, maybe they must have started as a real way for the city of Dallas to try to solve some crime cases that were in deep Elm,” Mori said Mori said. “Unfortunately for small businesses, it has not really worked like this. It has affected crime and the way the number of people here is to limit it. If they say that crime has decreased by 40 %, but if foot traffic has decreased by 50 %, you really want to see it.”
