Customers of Google’s second -generation chromkaste and chrome cast audio devices are experiencing significant issues due to verification error, and preventing them from casting content from their smartphones or tablets. As 9TO5 Google reported, consumers from all over the world are facing problems with equipment.
Chromkast Second General Outage: Issues facing consumers
This issue first acquired traction on R/Googlehome Subreddit, where several users shared their experiences to connect with their chromchuas (second general). Consumers have tried joint methods of detecting defects, such as restarting, resetting factory, re -installing Google Home app, clearing cache/data, and even tried to try different networks, but none of these moves appear to solve the problem.
Chromocist 2 General Outage: error message
Some users have encountered an error message that wrote: “Non -confident device: [name] Can’t confirm. This may be due to the outdated device firmware. This message effectively locks users out of casting capabilities, as it just provides the option to close the dialog box.
Interestingly, this problem only affects old chrome cast models, especially the second -generation chrome cast and chrome cast audio. New models, such as Chromkast (Third General) and Chrome Cast Ultra, are allegedly working without any problem.
Many consumers are concerned that Google has quietly stopped support for these old chrome cast models, and have declared them unusable overnight. Given the history of sunset products without a warning without Google, this concern is not completely unnecessary. However, the nature of the error message suggests that it can be more software bugging more than deliberate shutdown.
Since consumers are awaiting more information, uncertainty overcome whether a fix will be implemented soon.
