Chris Brown sues Warner Bros for documentary’s sex assault claims

Chris Brown first faced allegations against the dancer, known in court and in the documentary as Jane Doe, in 2022 when he sued her for $20m (£14.9m).

Her lawsuit claims he drugged and raped her during a party on a yacht owned by Sean ‘Daddy’ Combs in Miami, Florida.

But a judge reportedly dismissed the case.

Along with Jane Doe’s allegations, last year’s documentary also examined other allegations against Chris Brown.

These include allegedly assaulting a woman in 2021, a 2019 rape inquiry in Paris – where he was released without charge – and when he admitted to assaulting Rihanna in 2009, who was then had a girlfriend.

His lawyers say he has “never been found guilty of any sex offence”.

“Their actions not only damage Mr. Brown’s decades-long efforts to rebuild his life, but also damage the reputation of real survivors of violence,” said his lawyer, Levi McKatheren. “

Chris Brown says a portion of any losses will be donated to survivors of sexual violence.
