Bomb blast kills at least five in Afghanistan | News

Police say Taliban security personnel were still among those killed in an illegal claim.

A bomb blast in northeastern Afghanistan has killed at least five people and injured seven, local police reports.

The blast took place on Tuesday at 8:35 am (04:05 GMT). No group has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.

Police said the bank’s security guard and four others, including civilians and members of the Afghan ruling Taliban group, were among the dead.

“A suicide bomber, who improved the explosive equipment, blasted himself,” said Jamadin Khaksar, a spokesman for the Condoz Province Police.

He added, “The Kunduz province is working with the police command with the relevant organizations to find the incident and bring them to justice.”

The number of bombings and suicide attacks in Afghanistan has decreased clearly since the United States withdrew its forces and in August 2021, the Taliban ousted the government to support it.

However, many armed groups – including ISIL (ISIS) – have become a threat.

In October 2021, a suicide bombing at the Shia mosque in Condoz was killed, dozens of people were killed, with the responsibility of being associated with ISIS in the Khorasan Province (ISKP).

In March last year, a suicide bomber killed at least three people when he bombed a bank in the southern city of Kandahar, in a contender for a regional chapter.

Despite the ongoing attacks, Taliban officials say they have mostly crushed the group.
