Black church in D.C. that was vandalized by the Proud Boys gains control over the group’s trademark

A judge has awarded a historic black church after a historic Black Church controlled a proud boys’ trademark, following a $ 2.8 million decision, after a judge in Washington.

Monday’s decision in the DC Superior Court has approved the Metropolitan Methodist Epscopal Church to the group’s trademark of the group’s name, and the proud boys’ members without the consent of the church to any trade with their names or symbols. Prevented from selling. The decision also allows the church to try to seize the money from selling group goods.

The church filed a lawsuit to try to recover the losses caused by group members after the December 2020 supporter Trump’s rally. Black life meters banners were torn and burned in two churches, including the Metropolitan African Methodist. There were violent clashes between the opposing protesters and the arrests were arrested that night.

The proud boys’ leader, Enrique Tariyu, confessed to participating in the burning, and he was later sentenced to more than five months in prison for his and other charges. Later, on January 6, 2021, Trey was sentenced to 22 years in the Federal Jail on charges of rioting.

In his office, on the first day, President Donald Trump vowed to reject cases against more than 1,500 people in the January 6 Capital-attack attack, including Tario.

In a long statement published to X, Trey wrote, “The presidency judge has denied the appropriate action for himself and other defendants, which has prevented us from presenting proper defense.” Trey also suggested in separate posts that the proud boys name their name “African Methodist Epscople Boys” and seek suggestions in a new name.

The case record shows that the trial was presented in the Federal Jail where it was placed on the filing, as well as at least one address and other member associated with it. The church’s legislature demanded operations “terrorist acts” on December 12, 2020, saying that their aim was to intimidate members of the church.

In June 2023, the church was given a pre -determined decision. No payment was made by the proud boys or their representatives, nor was any response filed, church lawyers presented a movement in December to seek trademark rights.

A lawyer representing the church in civil action did not respond to the request to comment. Trey’s lawyer, Naib Hassan, refused to comment.
