Yellow Yellow Line announces skin completion

KARACHI: The bad news for Karachi, which has long been waiting for cheap and reliable transportation, is there: Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Red Line Project completion is a two -year -old objection to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), including some stakeholders.

Hundreds of thousands of passengers traveling along the University Road will continue to endure difficulties during their travels on the damaged and broken roads by at least December 2026. For the past three years, the multi -billion BRT project has been underway.

The bad news was shared by Senior Minister for Transport Minister for Transport Sharjeel Anim Memon, when he mentioned the CAA’s demands and told reporters that he was not sure that the BRT Red Line project could be completed by December 2026.

“There are many problems that need to be resolved. Was December 2026 as a target in our mind [to complete the project]. But it looks hard and I do not think it will be ready by then, “he told reporters during a visit to the BRT Yellow Line construction site.

He blamed the utility, including electricity, gas and telecoms that are operating by public and private companies, say they are taking a long time to move their infrastructure.

He said the civil aviation authority (CAA) has issued the NOC [no objection certificate]But now it raised objections to one of the three components of the structure, which could further delay the construction of the red line structure.

“The drainage is one of the ingredients. He had tested the design, discussed it with our team and then issued the NOC. Now when we work about about 50 % of this particular issue, they [CAA] Objections have been raised and we are asking us to re -design the entire scheme. Is this some kind of joke? Things do not grow like this, “he said.

‘The yellow line will be completed by May’

Regarding the yellow line, Mr Memon said that the Sindh government was working hard to provide maximum facilities to the people.

He claimed that the Yellow Line BRT project was actually scheduled for completion in September 2025, but now it will be completed five months before May 2025.

The yellow line bus will operate from Dawood Chorangi/Korangi 8000 road to the City-Quaid-e-Nash intersection.

“CM Murad Ali Shah has issued a directive to complete the tracks before. So once these utility issues are settled, growth will be at an amazing pace.

The advisers gave a detailed briefing to the minister about the project, and informed him about his progress, obstacles and expected times.

Responding to a question about the Green Line, he assured that fares would not be increased, but additional facilities would be introduced to provide better transport services to the public. Talking about the purchase of the bus, Mr Memon called on the Prime Minister to fulfill his promise to provide 180 buses for Karachi, emphasizing that it was the right of the citizens of Karachi.

He said that the Prime Minister should ensure better transportation facilities for the people of Karachi.

Regarding special measures for women, he said that pink scooters are being provided to working women.

He said that a pink taxi service will be launched soon to offer women a safe and comfortable journey.
