Officials say efforts are underway to save people trapped in the debris.

According to officials, at least 30 people were killed and many others were injured when a bus drowned outside the city of Guatemala.

City fire service spokesman, Maonore Rano, told reporters Monday that efforts were underway to “save other people who save other people” in the rubble.

The bus was going on a busy route inside and outside the Guatemala capital when it fell from the Pon Blees, a highway that passes through the road and the crack.

Joint footage of the fire department on social media shows rescue workers evacuated the victims from the river. The pictures shown the bus completely upside down.

Guatemala City Mayor Ricardo Quins said on social media that emergency services have been deployed while traffic police have worked on the establishment of alternative routes in the affected area.
