Armaghan’s father sent to jail in drugs case – Newspaper

KARACHI: On Sunday, a judicial magistrate sent Kamran Asghar Qureshi, the father of Prime Minister Armaghan, in the Mustafa Amir murder case, to jail on a judicial remand in a case related to the alleged drug restoration and unlicensed pistol.

Investigating Officer (IO), Haji Mohammad Iqbal, brought Qureshi to the special duty magistrate (South) after the expiry of his physical remand.

After hearing the IO’s request to extend the custody of the suspected police, which was opposed by defense lawyer Noman Ali, who was in the custody of the jail, duty magistrate sent Qureshi to jail on judicial remand.

The court also directed the IO to submit an investigation report under Section 173 of the Criminal Conduct.

Later, Khurram Abbas, who is also a suspect’s lawyer, said Don The IO had requested a two -day remand for further investigation.

He said the defense party said that the police did not record any video during the raid.

He added that the defense party claimed that according to the FIR, the suspect was out of his house and had drugs in his possession.

He said the defense party asked how it was possible, as a resident of the bungalow, would bring the drug out instead of using it inside.

At the last hearing, Qureshi had a complaint about the misconduct in the hands of the police before the court, which was directed by the Judicial Magistrate (South) Shahad Kheja, IO for medical examination of the accused.

According to the FIR contents, on March 20, the Anti -Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) was conducting a search operation for the desired fugitives on terror charges in the South District.

Meanwhile, when he entered the jurisdiction of the Gazri police station, the police were informed that a man named Kamran Asghar was standing outside his bungalow, waiting for someone before leaving.

He added that the informant added that he had illegal weapons.

The contents claimed that while working on the indicator, the AVCC arrested Kamran on the basis of information about its source.

The FIR claimed that during the search, a blue school bag that he (the suspect) was carrying was checked, and from inside a plastic bag, 200 grams of snow (methymphitimine) was recovered.

It added that the police allegedly seized a 9 mm pistol as well as five living bullets.

Currently, two cases have been registered against the suspect at the AVCC police station under Section 6/9-2 (4) of Section 23 (A) of the Amendment Act 2022 and Sindh Arms Act 2013 of the control narcotics substance.
