AT CTD, FIA and ANF also inspired the prime suspect on charges of illegal weapons, money laundering and drugs, ATC extended Armagon’s physical remand for a week.
KARACHI: A anti -terrorism court was told on Tuesday that the most important suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, Irmagan, told his father about the murder, but he allegedly advised his son to hide.
This was disclosed by the investigating officer of the case before the ATC-IV, which extended the remand of the prime suspect for seven more days.
After completing his physical remand, IO Muhammad Ali prepared a suspect in front of ATC Judge IV at the Judicial Complex inside the central jail and sought extension for another seven days.
At the beginning of the hearing, the IO told the court that it had recovered a self -defense stick, which was allegedly used to attack Mustafa Amir on January 6.
He said that a network video recorder (NVR), a digital video recorder (DVR) – which is installed at Armagan’s residence in DHA – and two smartphones, including an iPhone, were also recovered and they needed to be sent for forensic examination.
He said that during the interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed that after killing Mustafa Aamir, he told his father, Kamran Qureshi about the incident and his father allegedly advised him that “now, left Karachi and went to hide, and later, we would move to the software.
The IO said on the advice of his father, the suspect hid in Lahore, Islamabad and the scardu with his partner, Shiraz.
The IO informed the court that before the arrest of the murder, Arghan was registered in at least eight other cases. He added that information has been conveyed to the relevant stations through the police control station for the cases in which the suspect is contradictory.
Meanwhile, defense lawyer Abid Zaman argued that since all the recovered and the seized items will be sent for a forensic exam, his client does not need to remain in physical custody.
He further said that more than a month had passed since the FIR was registered, yet IO did not submit an interim charge sheet. The lawyer transferred the petition under Section 173 (I) (B) of the criminal procedure before the court.
He requested that the suspect be sent to jail on judicial remand.
Special Public Prosecutor Zulfar Ali Aryan opposed the defense lawyer’s request and argued that the prosecution needed physical custody of the suspect to obtain a password to access the recovered cell phones and other devices.
He said other agencies, including the Anti -Terrorism Department, were questioning the suspect in a case related to the possession of illegal weapons, who were recovered after the February 8 confrontation.
He added that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Anti -Narcotics Force (ANF) are also questioning the suspect.
After listening to both sides, the court increased the suspect’s physical custody for another seven days.
He also allowed the suspect’s parents to meet him in the court premises at the request of a defense lawyer.
The court noted in its order that Irmaghan did not respond in affirmation when he was asked if he had been abused by the police.
