Apple’s new Mac Studio with M4 Max and M3 ultra is officially available. To be upset with its launch, Apple has Updated a support document This shows which new Mac Studio supports MacOS Power Mode, and which does not happen. The answer is a bit amazing.
Low power mode is available on Mac Studio, but not high power mode
New Mac Studio studios have confirmed that this is the most powerful Mac Apple’s most powerful Mac.
Whether you choose M4 Max or M3 ultra -configuration, you are getting a powerhouse.
If, however, what will happen if you want to limit this strength?
Apple’s Latest Support Documents on Power Methods Reveals that the new Mac Studio offers low power mode support (By Macrovers,
Why would you like to use low power mode? Because it works two, per apple:
- “Silent environment reduces the noise of fans for tasks needed”
- And “if your Mac is always left to reduce power consumption”
These are both good reasons for supporting a feature, otherwise it can be considered irrelevant to the Mac Studio.
Interestingly, a feature supporting Mac Studio is high power mode.
Apple describes this feature: Here’s:
High power mode allows fans to run fast. Additional cooling capacity can allow the system to provide high performance in a very high workload. When high power mode is enabled, you can hear the noise of extra fans.
It looks like a great feature to bring it to the Mac Studio, but curiosity does not include the list of supported devices. You can use different MacBook Pro models and even high power mode on this M4 Mac mini. But not a new Mac Studio.

Apple may need to add additional additional work to enable its latest power mode on its latest Mac, and it will be updated in the future software.
I hope this is the matter, because it is very strange that Apple’s most powerful Mac loses this important feature. Low power mode is good, but high power mode feels perfect for Mac Studio.
